April and I set out in the cold and snow this afternoon after school to walk to a new Chinese restaurant we heard about. We have no idea what the name of the restaurant is...we just call it "the one by the art school". Once we arrived, there was Veronica, Nancy, Janet and Paula, too! We sat right down and had a little party.
It's just a little hole in the wall restaurant and the menu is all in Chinese. One of our Mandarin teachers at DAIS gave her students the assignment to translate the menu into English for us expats and we greatly appreciated it! The food's delicious and the prices definitely fit an international teacher's budget! Six people, free flowing food and beer, and it was only 150 yuan, which is about 22 dollars.

Hell has frozen over and pigs are flying...I'm eating eggplant!
And, go figure, it's good!

April and I decided to brave the cold again and walk back to Campus Village. They're in the middle of building a boardwalk along the busy highway that takes us back to school, so we hopped along what looked like railroad ties to stay out of traffic. It will be very nice when it's done!
