We started our day at Patong Beach with a bit of shopping.
The Thai people have the sweetest greeeting referred to as the wai. It consists of a bow with the palms placed together in a prayer-like position and if your a woman you say "sawateekaa" or if you a man you say "sawateekhrab." The higher the hands and the lower the bow, the more respect the giver is showing. And even Ronald McDonald greets you with the wai here in Thailand. : )
Egg truck
Brandi doing some shopping. The Santa hat is a sweet reminder that it's Christmas Eve. Hard to believe it's Christmas when the temperature is close to 90º and we're all running around in our shorts and bathing suits!
Check it out Jan...it's a Boots right here in Thailand!
Love the Buddhas...
Patong Beach is full busy streets, bars, and night clubs. Must be hoppin' in this area after dark. Nothing like where we are staying on Surin Beach...much more serene! : )
Check out the power line. : /
Okay...
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...nope!
We were happy to get our shopping done and head back to the serenity of Surin Beach for a lazy afternoon lying on the beach and another spectacular sunset. This dog was very sweet...came wondering down the beach and sat down as if to watch the sunset with us.
Matthew and Isaac had a blast making sandcastles.
Classic quote from Doug as he held his hands toward the setting sun, vertical with horizon, and about six inches apart, "We have this much time until dinner." Ah, this is the life!
After the sunset, we walked about 50 feet in the sand to our favorite restaurant, Audy's...
...and had yet another fabulous Thai dinner.
I found my room for rent on the beach! Please come visit!
Fireworks on the beach.
We sent up another Thai sky lantern.
And there she goes...giving us all kinds of good luck!
When I got back to my hotel room, Santa had left a Christmas gift on my pillow of delicious dried cantaloupe.
Merry Christmas Eve, everyone!
